RMT LLP is looking for an Intermediate Staff Accountant to join our team. We are a 5 partner, 30+ staff firm located in downtown Toronto. Our client base consists of a wide variety of business sectors including service, retail, manufacturing, marketing, sales, construction, real estate and information technology. Our firm is a member of an educational consortium through which we provide professional development to staff. We are also a member of MGI Worldwide a worldwide association of public accounting firms. The organic growth of the firm has resulted in significant upward potential for qualified candidates who will be enrolled in our firm-wide staff mentor program to assist in career development.

The candidate’s main responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with the preparation of audit and review engagements (includes field work)

- Prepare Notice to Reader files (Financial Statements)

- Responsible for preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns - Opportunity to assist with corporate re-organizations, business valuations and due diligence engagements

- Build relationships with clients by understanding and responding to their requests and suggestions

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 1-2 years CPA firm experience

- CPA designation is not compulsory

- Audit and review engagement experience

- Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

- Experience with Accounting programs is an asset (TaxPrep, Caseware, Caseview)

- Excellent verbal and oral communication skills

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Flexible team player who works independently and with other team members

- Positive attitude and detail oriented

- Excellent organization skills

- Ability to multi-task and follow deadlines
